Capturing this moment reminded me that children that grow up with good touch will know the value of healing touch. More than words can tell, a hug or reaching out to hold someone’s hand, or feet, will offer comfort, show someone they care, strength to help with a burden, understanding with grace, reassurance that they are there, a persistent presence.
As they grow up and begin the normal sibling squabbling I will remind them of this photo and tell them how they were not happy until they found each other and could be “in touch.”
